Combination Skin Care Tips
Since women with combination skin have skin that is both dry and oily, their skin needs extra care. Factors as the weather, their mood, body chemistry, sleeping habits and cosmetics can affect the delicate balance of their skin.
Women with combination skin can treat their dry skin areas with home made cold creams or moisturizing creams, while the oily skin areas can be treated with homemade toners.
- Clean the oily area, the T-Zone, a minimum of two times a day with a face wash or cleansing cream that is not oil based.
- You can also use a non-abrasive toner to help keep the area clean, but restrict application to once a week astringents dry out the skin.
- Apply moisturizer twice a day once in the morning and again at night, the dry skin areas such as the cheeks and neck need a lot of moisture.
- When using face masks, use two different facial packs to best meet combination skin requirements.
There are some homemade remedies that will come in handy, the most basic thing, is a facial mask. Go for a rose mask. It will help to balance the dryness and oily parts of the skin.
To prepare this mask, all you need is;
- 2 tbsp of rosewater
- 1 tbsp of natural yogurt
- 1 tbsp of honey
Heat the honey in a microwave for a few seconds. Then mix all of the ingredients together and make a paste. You can also add fresh petals of roses. Apply the mixture to your face and keep it on for 10 minutes. Rinse with cool water.
It is better to use a homemade scrub to clean the skin instead of using soap. Mix one egg with cooked instant oat meal and a teaspoon of olive oil. Make a fine paste and apply the mixture on the skin. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then rinse with cold water.
Another good cleanser is milk. Soak a cotton ball in milk and rub it on your face, on the dry areas only. This will not only remove the dirt, but at the same time it will make your skin soft and smooth.
To maintain the oil balance of the skin, you can always apply any essential oil on the dry parts of the skin. You can use lavender oil, tea-tree oil,etc. Remember, whatever product you use, be sure that it is mild and not too harsh on your skin.
My quote of the day is; “A lie has a short life, but truth lives on for ever.” Proverbs 12:19
